Novia Reflex reflective breather membrane is an innovative reflective breather membrane designed to provide superior moisture resistance. It is an ideal breather membrane for all pitched cold and warm roofs and insulated wall applications.

This high-quality, versatile, reflective breather membrane, when used in suitable constructions the membrane delivers improved R and μ values. It is lightweight and very easy to install. 

Novia reflex reflective roof and wall breather membrane is fully CE approved and CPR compliant. It also complies with EN 13501-1 fire classification grade E. 

Novia Reflex is a high-performance, multi-layer membrane made with 4-layer metallised polypropylene and microporous film laminate that features a highly reflective surface on one side, which helps to reflect radiant heat and reduce the overall heat load on your building.

This reflective layer is combined with a highly breathable, waterproof membrane, which allows moisture to escape from the building while preventing water ingress from the outside.

Installation Guidance For Walls:

  • Fix Novia Reflex reflective breather membrane to the wall structure.
  • Ensure the upper layers overlap the lower layers with the reflective side facing outwards into the cavity.
  • Work from the bottom moving upwards. Allow for minimum overlaps of 100 mm on the horizontal joints.
  • Vertical laps should be at least 150 mm with no vertical lap joint within 300 mm of a corner.
  • Ensure the bottom timber is also protected by an overlap. 

Installation Guidance For Roofs:

  • On insulated warm roofs, Novia Reflex may be placed directly onto the insulation or boarded roof if required.
  • Fix the membrane to the roof using galvanised nails, stainless staples or similar approved fixings while allowing upper and lower layer overlapping as shown within BS 5534:2014. Work from the bottom moving upwards. 
  • All vertical overlaps must be situated on a rafter and must be sealed. Fix at suitable intervals that will be permanent.
  • At any entry points for services (soil pipes, vents etc.), or for pipe penetrations, ensure that Novia Reflex is properly sealed with Novia tape.
  • To comply with some BS 5534 wind uplift zone requirements use our single-sided Novia Breather Membrane Lap Tape.
